Printing Address Labels
NOTE: An Internet connection and Apple QuickTime
6.0 or later is required.
Make sure there is a label format for your label paper.
See Which Mailing Labels Should I Use? in this section. To see if a label format will work with your paper, see Testing Label Formats in the Label Editor section.
If you are printing labels for a subset of all clients, choose List Clients from the People menu, search for the desired clients, then choose Save the Current Set of Clients from the Search menu.
If you are printing labels for a subset of all relations, choose List Relations from the People menu, search for the desired relations, then choose Save the Current Set of Relations from the Search menu.
If you are printing labels for a subset of all prospects, choose List Prospects from the People menu, search for the desired prospects, then choose Save the Current Set of Prospects from the Search menu.
Choose Print Or Export Mailing from the People menu.
If you saved the current set of clients, relations or prospects in the previous steps, Success Tracking will ask you if you want to use these saved sets for your mailing. Answer "yes." The Print/Export Mailing window will appear.
Check the Print/Export check boxes for clients, relations and/or prospects.
If necessary, search for the desired clients, relations and/or prospects by using the Search pop up menu.
See Searching For Records in the Searching section.
If desired, check Print/Export CASS certified addresses only.
Doing so removes all people that do not have a CASS certified address (see What Is CASS Certification? in this section). Use this option if you are preparing a bulk mailing and do not want to prepare a separate mailing to addresses that do not qualify for the bulk mail reduced rates.
If desired, check Separate CASS and non-CASS certified labels.
Use this option when you are preparing a bulk mailing but also want to include people with non-CASS certified addresses using regular postage. The printed labels addresses will contain non-CASS certified addresses sorted by zip code followed by CASS addresses sorted by zip code and delivery point. Note that this option is disabled if "Print/Export CASS certified addresses only" is checked. See What Is CASS Certification? in this section.
If desired, check Print bar codes on labels for Zip+4 addresses.
To receive a bulk mail discount from the post
office, you must print a bar code on each CASS certified address label.
Therefore, this option is checked for you when you check the "Print/Export CASS certified addresses only" check box.
See What
Is CASS Certification? in this section.
Note that bar codes are approximately
If desired, check Ignore "No Direct Mail" check box on addresses.
Normally, Success Tracking removes anyone who has an address with No Direct Mail checked. Checking this "ignore" option will add these people to the addresses to be printed. You may need to do this to communicate with clients who have asked that you do not send them promotional mail.
If desired, check Add "Or Current Resident" below the name on printed labels.
This option is helpful if the person to whom you are mailing has moved. It allows the mailing piece to be delivered to the specified address even if the name on the label is not the current resident. Note that the postal service does not return undeliverable bulk mail.
Select whether you want formal or informal addressees to be printed on address labels.
Choose Print Mailing Labels from the Print pop up menu.
A window will appear.
To print labels using an existing label format, click the Print button.
A window will appear to allow you to open the label format. Note that Success Tracking's predefined label formats are located in the Label Formats folder within the same folder containing your SuccessWare software.
To create a new label format or edit an existing one before printing, click the Edit button.
When a message window appears, click the OK button. The Label Editor will appear. Create a new format or edit an existing one. When you are done, print the labels by clicking the Print button. See Creating Label Formats or Editing Existing Label Formats in the Label Editor section.
