CASS Certifying Addresses
You can use Success Tracking's built-in CASS support to track which addresses are certified, correct ones that are not, and mail exclusively to CASS addresses. If you are having a bulk mailing house produce your mailing, you may want them to CASS certify your addresses as well. To do so, see Using A Bulk Mailing House in this section.
Choose Create CASS Certification File from the People menu.
A standard "Save File As" window will appear to allow you to name the file and specify where it should be saved.
Send the CASS file to a company that specializes in CASS certification processing. We highly recommend Lorton Data (www.lortondata.com). To download the Lorton Data CASS certification order form, click here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).
Tell the CASS processing company that you have an ASCII text input file with tab delimiters between fields, carriage returns (without line feeds) as record delimiters, and that the fields appear in the following order:
Record ID
Company Name
Delivery Address (Street)
City
State
Zip Code/Zip+4
If you use Lorton Data to process your list, you can view properly filled out sample pages from their order form by clicking the link below. Proper responses appear in red. Don't forget to fill out the rest of the form as well.

Once certification is complete, you will receive a new CASS certified file along with a valid CASS report. The report must be presented to the post office at the time of bulk mail submission. You may continue to use SuccessWare and add new information while waiting for the return of your certified addresses. However, any new clients, prospects, or relations that you enter will not be certified.
When you receive your certified address file from SuccessWare Inc., complete the certification process by doing the following.
Choose Read CASS Certification File from the People menu and follow the on-screen instructions that appear.
If any addresses could not be certified (which is normal), you can attempt to correct them by searching for clients, relations and prospects whose address is not CASS certified. See Searching For Records in the Searching section.
